Louis Bottero — Departure of the Angels 2/2 (alone or in diptych with 1/2)

With Departure of the Angels 2/2, Louis Bottero extends and deepens the sense of breath introduced in the first panel of the diptych. The composition unfolds through a more open interplay of forms, which seem to slide across one another, carried by a slow and continuous movement.
The pastel palette grows slightly warmer—dominated by peach, pink, and wine tones, punctuated by deep blues and luminous greens—creating a subtle balance between softness and intensity. The organic motifs, still fluid and rounded, evoke fragments in transition: neither fully figurative nor entirely abstract, they suggest a presence in the process of becoming.
In contrast to the first panel, the eye disappears, giving way to a more diffuse circulation of forms, as if the focal point had dissolved into the pictorial space. This shift reinforces the idea of passage: what was once observed becomes movement; what was held in place is now released.
Presented on its own, the work retains a meditative, almost musical quality. As part of the diptych with Departure of the Angels 1/2, it forms a visual sequence in which gaze and flow respond to one another—a gentle passage where forms seem to leave their initial state and open toward a quiet transformation.
