In New Journey, Valérie Hadida gives form to an inner passage — that fragile moment when the self seems to detach from reality and enter a more intuitive, more organic space. Seated in a posture that is both grounded and vulnerable, the figure appears suspended between surrender and rebirth.
The elongated, almost ascetic body contrasts with the sculptural eruption emerging from the head: a shifting materiality that may appear volcanic, vegetal, or cosmic depending on the viewer’s perspective. This world-like hair becomes the site of metamorphosis. It evokes expanding thought as much as natural forces, memories, dreams, and the inner landscapes that accompany human existence.
