Grande Odyssée — The Inner Journey

With Grande Odyssée, Valérie Hadida returns to one of the most emblematic postures in her artistic universe: a woman seated in the lotus position, absorbed in contemplation, as though suspended in a moment that belongs to her alone.
The body is still, yet everything suggests an inner movement. The odyssey evoked here is not one of distant departures or faraway horizons. It is intimate, silent, and deeply personal: the journey each of us undertakes through experiences, doubts, transformations, and new beginnings.
In this meditative posture, which over the years has become a true signature of the artist, the female figure seems to have found her point of balance. Her face serene, her body grounded, she does not withdraw from the world; she simply takes the time to inhabit it differently.
Bronze lends a particular strength to this presence. The softness of the lines is met by the permanence of the material, while the patina reveals the sculpture’s relief and texture.
