GALRY welcomes Luxembourgish artist Yanis Miltgen as part of the exhibition “Éclosions.” At only 25 years old, this multidisciplinary creator blurs the boundaries between sculpture, embroidery, and contemporary art …
As part of the exhibition “Éclosions,” GALRY presents the work of
Yanis Miltgenfor the very first time. The young Luxembourgish artist has developed a singular universe where art embroidery, textile sculpture, and contemporary installation merge
into one poetic and immersive practice. A graduate of Atelier Chardon Savard in Paris, Miltgen creates works in which artisanal craftsmanship meets a deeply contemporary artistic vision.
At just 25 years old, Yanis Miltgen has already established himself on the European art scene through his radically contemporary approach to embroidery, transforming it into a true
sculptural language. Winner of the “Les de(ux) mains” prize awarded by the Comité Colbert and recipient of distinctions at London’s prestigious Hand & Lock Prize, he represents
a new generation of creators capable of bridging traditional savoir-faire with artistic experimentation.
At the heart of Miltgen’s work lies nature as both a sensitive and symbolic territory. The pieces presented in “Éclosions” give rise to organic landscapes composed of textile flowers, embroidered branches, and monumental aerial structures.
With Les Éthérées, a monumental installation made of four 9.5-meter branches, Yanis Miltgen evokes the memory of a bouquet offered during a defining romantic encounter. Dyed feathers, silk, aluminum, brass, and glass microtubes come together in a delicate and immersive work where every detail appears suspended between reality and imagination.
In Nostalgie Florale, the artist explores childhood memories and the intimate bond between human beings and nature. Crochet, cotton, nettle fiber, and raffia become the materials of a sensitive narrative inspired by the recollection of a child discovering the fragile beauty of wildflowers.
Yanis Miltgen’s practice exists at the crossroads of multiple disciplines: fashion, craftsmanship, sculpture, and contemporary art. His career reflects a remarkable rise, from his early
fashion collections exhibited in Luxembourg to prestigious collaborations, including the creation of embroidered sculptures for Hôtel Le Meurice in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games.
Often monumental in scale, his works question time, memory, and collective imagination. Through them, the artist seeks to create emotional and sensory experiences in which material
itself becomes a vessel for memories and wonder.
With this first presentation at GALRY, Yanis Miltgen joins the artists brought together in “Éclosions,” an exhibition conceived as a celebration of life, transformation, and sensitive forms. His organic and deeply narrative universe naturally resonates within the exhibition, offering visitors an immersion into a world where embroidery becomes sculpture and where each work seems to literally bloom before the viewer’s eyes.
