Based in Bordeaux (France), WOO develops an artistic practice at the crossroads of contemporary street art, Figuration Libre, and abstract calligraphy. His work merges the instinctive energy of graffiti with the elegance of Eastern alphabets, drawing inspiration from Chinese and Japanese traditions as well as pre-Columbian and Egyptian glyphs. Influenced by Keith Haring and Niki de Saint Phalle, he embraces a raw and intuitive approach in which gesture, repetition, and movement become a language of their own.
Through vibrant colors, bold contrasts, and refined forms, the artist creates a universe populated by “Neoglyphs,” free symbols blending organic, animal, pop-cultural, and spiritual references. Oscillating between writing and drawing, his works — created with ink or acrylic on canvas or Plexiglas — invite personal interpretation, allowing viewers to project their own narratives.
Rooted in contemporary abstraction and urban art, WOO’s practice explores a constant dialogue between collective memory and intimate expression.
The artist is represented in Paris by Galry.
