Alione / Seaty : Inhabiting the world, projecting the gaze.
At first glance, the works of Alione and Seaty appear to stand in opposition.
On one side, open spaces bathed in light, where the eye moves freely between architecture and landscape. On the other, figures captured in an immediate frontal presence, traversed by vivid, almost accidental painterly gestures.
In Alione’s work, the image becomes a place. A constructed, inhabited space where every detail — furniture, horizon, color — contributes to a quiet narrative. The viewer settles into
it, taking time, unfolding within a soft, almost suspended temporality.
In Seaty’s work, the image is an impact. The subject emerges from a raw background, crossed by bursts of color that enrich its presence. The gesture is direct, almost instinctive
— like a mental or emotional projection imposed upon the gaze.
Interiors / Exteriors proposes less a confrontation than a circulation between two modes of image-making:
one that invites, the other that strikes.
Two ways of inhabiting reality — through space or through the figure, through construction or through emergence.
From April onward, Galry highlights these two artists through a new selection of previously unseen works, continuing this subtle dialogue between space and presence, calm and intensity.
