Extend the summer, open up new horizons
Summer is gently drawing to a close. The birds take flight once more, the light begins to change, and with the return of September, new horizons start to emerge.
After the suspended rhythm of summer comes a time for reunions, new projects and fresh inspiration. We return to the office, sometimes to school, and settle back into familiar routines…
while already looking a little further ahead.
At GALRY too, September is a time of transition. A moment to hold on to the gentle spirit of summer just a little longer, to reconnect with our artists and their works, before opening
a new chapter.
And because art invites us to shift our perspective, we wanted to begin this new season somewhere between sky, flight and new horizons.
There is something about Lionel Wodecki’s birds that perfectly captures this time of year. Resting for a moment, ready to take flight again, they seem to remind us that every departure
carries a promise within it.
With their pure, elegant lines and delicate presence, the artist’s sculptures evoke freedom, movement, and that fragile energy just before taking flight.
Looking to the Sky
The end of summer also invited us to look up.
Inspired by an eclipse, Luna plays with light and the translucent beauty of alabaster. Its almost silent form seems suspended between shadow and light, presence and disappearance.
A work that reminds us that some phenomena last only for a fleeting moment, yet can leave a lasting mark on the way we see the world.
Broadening the Horizon
And then there is the horizon. The one we gaze at, the one we imagine, and the one we sometimes choose to cross.
With her new sculpture Horizon, Valérie Hadida invites us to look beyond the here and now. True to her sensitive, introspective world of feminine figures, the artist gives form to
that suspended moment when we already seem to be somewhere else, looking towards all that remains to be discovered.
